Vocals for T1stL – 8/15/09

Danny and Kevin of the 1st Line came in to record vocals for the 4 songs we recorded on Friday.

I’ve been recording vocals in the live room instead of the vocal booth lately because I think it’s nice for singers to have a little more room to breathe.

Kevin and Danny both did a great job. I was glad we were able to keep up the momentum and quality of the earlier sessions.

Now we just have to comp the 3 takes of each song and run everything by Dom. Dom is more than just the drummer; he’s also in charge of quality control.

We joke about Dom being somewhat of a tyrant but his leadership is invaluable. Kudos Dom!

T1stL – New Songs / New Album? – 8-8-09

My own group Le Petit Protest was originally scheduled to play a show this evening at the Mercury Lounge in Goleta, CA. Unfortunately, we had some bass player problems (who doesn’t?!?) and we were forced to pull out. Anyways, because I thought  we’d be performing in the evening, I set up a 9am start time for this session!

Mornings have never been my friend.
